Are custom gift baskets available?

We are happy to customize your gift order of 10 or more gifts. Custom gift baskets begin at $75, and small bulk gifts such as favors begin at $5 each. Rush fees may apply if an order is accepted with less than 7 days lead time.

What shipping methods are used?

We ship using UPS and USPS. Ground shipping typically takes 1-2 business days in the DC area to 1-5 days nationwide, depending on destination. Some carriers will deliver over the weekend or on holidays, however this is not guaranteed.

What is the cut off time for shipping?

All gifts are made to order and may take 1-3 days to process. If you would like to confirm when a gift will ship call or text 301.799.4532 or email hello@capitalgiftbaskets.com and we will be in touch within 1 business day. We do not ship on weekends to avoid gifts sitting in shipper warehouses over the weekend where temperatures may be extreme. Please note that if you choose expedited shipping it is from the date your basket is created, not from the date on which you place the order.

Is same day delivery available?

Is Faster Shipping Available?

Contact us to discuss when your gift will be shipped or if you have concerns about the delivery date.

Will everything listed on the website be in my gift?

Our gifts are made in small batches and to order. We occasionally need to swap an out-of-stock item for something similar. Rest assured any substitution will be of equal or greater value and equally delicious!

Are wine gift baskets available?

Yes! We have a team working for us in Arizona which allows us to ship wine. Wine gifts will not ship from Maryland due to local laws.

Does warm weather affect shipping chocolate?

During warm weather months (typically May-September) the chocolates contained in gift baskets may be substituted to avoid damage due to melting.

Can a gift basket be returned?

Unfortunately we can not accept returns of gift baskets, but if something is damaged please contact us immediately so that we can evaluate the issue.

Can gift baskets be delivered to hospitals or hotels?

Yes, however often gifts are shipped to the receiving department and then need to be taken by hospital/hotel staff to the patient/guest. We are not responsible for a gift basket becoming lost or misplaced once it is delivered to the hospital/hotel.

Do you donate gift baskets?

We love charitable causes. We believe that nothing in life matters more than what you do for others. Each year, we allocate a certain amount of funds to support community activities through donations and discounts. We would love to say “YES!” to every request, however they have become so numerous that they exceed our financial capabilities. The requestor must meet the following criteria 1) be a current year Capital Gift Baskets customer and a 501c-3 organization which benefits people in the DMV area. If your organization meets these criteria, please contact us for an application.
